How to Use Indian Sandstone Sealer
Stone Care Tip - Indian sandston sealer
All Indian sandstone should be sealed. If it’s newly laid, seal it straight away with a quality impregnating sealer such as Ultimate Invisible Matte or a colour-enhancing finish. Avoid using a wet look sealer for at least the first 2 months so salts can escape naturally before you apply a surface sealer.
- Clean: Deep clean the patio with a specialized stone cleaner to remove all algae and dirt.
- Dry: Ensure the surface is completely dry for at least 24 hours before sealing.
- Test Area: Apply sealer to a small, inconspicuous area to check the finish.
- Apply First Coat: Use a sprayer or brush to apply the first even coat of sealer.
- Apply Second Coat: Apply a second coat if required by the finish after the first is touch dry.
- Aftercare: Maintain the sealed look with regular gentle cleaning and avoid harsh chemicals.
